Adam Countryman – Agent, The Agency Group Canada
Adam started his career as a club and concert promoter and sometimes DJ. Now as an agent with The Agency Group Canada, he represents some of Canada’s top artists, including Arkells, Hey Rosetta!, LIGHTS, A Tribe Called Red, and Half Moon Run. While based in Toronto, Adam represents artists in Canada, as well as The Unites States, Australia and Asia.

Al Marano – Agent, High Road Touring
Al Marano is a booking agent at High Road Touring based out of the company’s Brooklyn, NY office. High Road is a full service booking agency dedicated to the growth and development of successful live music careers. Their roster includes Robert Plant, Wilco, Alabama Shakes, Patti Smith, and many others. Al began his career interning at Chugg Entertainment in Sydney, Australia followed by a brief stint as a tour manager before joining Blackbird Artists Agency which merged with High Road Touring in 2012.

Brendan Greaves – Principal, Paradise of Bachelors
A folklorist, curator, and writer with a background in both music and visual art, Brendan founded the record label Paradise of Bachelors in 2010. Based in Chapel Hill, North Carolina, the label (named for the Herman Melville story) is dedicated to documenting, curating, and releasing under-recognized musics of the American vernacular, historical and contemporary alike, with an emphasis on the South—broadly defined—and its global sound diaspora. Artists with whom he and his partner Christopher Smith have worked include contemporary musicians Hiss Golden Messenger, Steve Gunn, Chris Forsyth, and Promised Land Sound, as well as English avant-folk luminary Mike Cooper, Johnny Cash sideman Chance Martin, soul and gospel songwriter and label owner David Lee, Lumbee Indian legend Willie French Lowery, and Lavender Country, the first openly gay country band. Cam Reed – Marketing Manager, Arts & Crafts
Cameron Reed is a Marketing and Product Manager at Arts & Crafts Productions, a music-focused media and artist services company behind Broken Social Scene, Feist, and Dan Mangan based in Toronto. Before joining Arts & Crafts, Reed worked as a strategist at the digital agency TribalDDB and the social justice agency TruthFool. Reed is also a musician with two records on the acclaimed electronic label Warp Records.

Dan Hawie – Marketing Manager, Dine Alone Records
Dan Hawie is a Marketing Manager for Dine Alone Records, a Toronto, Nashville and LA-based record label boasting a roster of over 60 national and international artists, ranging from Grammy and JUNO Award winners, to some of today’s most buzzed-about up-and-comers. Dan deals with day-to-day label operations, including digital, retail, promotional and lifestyle marketing, label branding, A&R and correspondence with artist managers, agents, publicists, sync representatives, radio representatives, brands and more. On a broader scale, he also deals with planning for promotional events, showcases and festivals, along with marketing for third party events. That’s a lot of stuff.

Jeremy Giacomin – Agent, Paquin Artists Agency
One of the newest additions to the Paquin Artists Agency (PAA) team, Jeremy Giacomin joined the company in August 2013 as an assistant and has since risen through the ranks as an associate, working with acts such as Sierra Noble, Shred Kelly, Greg MacPherson and Harlan Pepper.

Lana Gay – Host and Content Contributor, CBC Music/CBC Radio 3
Lana Gay is a radio host and content contributor for CBC Music. You can hear her daily on CBC Radio 3 from 2 – 6pm MT, showcasing the best in Canadian independent music. You can also find her hosting Inside the Music on CBC Radio 1 and 2, which features documentaries and radio series about the lives and works of great Canadian musicians. Lana is fixated on music and also enjoys writing and tweeting about oddities, technology, food, and anything to do with Dolly Parton.

Matt Andersen – Agent, The Agency Group
Matt Andersen works at The Agency Group in their Los Angeles office where he represents a roster of over thirty acts including Motionless In White, Emmure, Attila and For Today. He began his career in music as a tour manager working with some of the same bands that he represents today. Matt started his agent career at The Kirby Organization (TKO) in 2008 before leaving to join The Pantheon Agency when it was formed in 2010. At Pantheon he rose to the role of vice president before joining for The Agency Group in 2014.
Matt Manza – Associate Director, MusicfestNW
Matthew Manza has been in Portland his entire life. In the spring of 2000 he began his career in the music industry, accepting an internship with local promotion and booking company Mike Thrasher Presents. Here he learned the inner workings of the concert industry, fulfilling a number of roles such as stage assistant, merchandise coordinator and promo creation & distribution.
In 2006 Matt began as an intern at MusicfestNW, where he performed similar duties while simultaneously learning new skills and honing existing ones. In 2009, he booked the largely popular Modest Mouse for the festival, a notable scheduling as well as his first national act. Currently, Matt is the Associate Director of MusicfestNW, where he handles a number of logistical and directorial responsibilities for the festival. These include everything from marketing and ad management, to ticketing and festival operations. He also handles band submissions, as well as contracts and occasional booking.

Meredith Fraser – Agent, Panache Booking
Meredith Fraser is a booking agent from New Orleans, LA who works for Panache Booking. Although Meredith has been booking tours since she was about 19 years old, but it wasn’t until this past year that Meredith left the film industry where she worked on huge, multi million dollar studio films to join the Panache team as a full time booking agent. Meredith also runs a small New Orleans based record label called Pizza Burglar Records.

Piers Henwood – Artist Manager, Amelia Artists Inc., Tegan and Sara Management
Piers Henwood co-founded Amelia Artists Inc. in 2002 to support the career and development of flagship client Tegan and Sara. The roster has since expanded to include Buck 65, Flash Lightnin’ and Gold & Youth. Based in Victoria, BC with a staff of five, the company is known for its strong network of US and international colleagues stemming from Tegan and Sara’s global success.
Rich Fernandes – Label Manager, New Damage / Artist Manager, Bedlam Music Management
Richard Fernandes works as an Artist Manager for Bedlam Music Management, and as a Label Manager for New Damage Records, a Toronto-based record label focused on Metal, Punk and Hardcore. Richard’s past work experience ranges from running music companies Distort Entertainment and Distort Management, as well as tour managing acts such as Protest the Hero, Cancer Bats and Silverstein.

Rob Calder – Owner, Secret Study (Creative) / Boompa (Record Label/Artist Management)
Rob Calder has spent the better part of two decades producing, managing and performing with bands like The Salteens, 54-40, The Cave Singers and The Belle Game. In 2003, he co-founded Boompa, an independent record label and artist management company which represents some of Canada’s diverse indie talent, including We are the City, Woodpigeon, The Belle Game, and Dralms. Rob is also a seasoned producer, having executed photo shoots and commercials for Kokanee, Vitamin Water, Jack Daniels and Nikon and gallery shoots for Harpers, Glamour UK, and Entertainment Weekly. In 2010, Rob formed Secret Study Projects to connect brands with musicians and artists in order to create meaningful engagements. Secret Study has since become a go-to creative agency for Talent Sourcing and Buying, Music Management and Supervision, as well as a wide range of creative industry consulting. Clients include publicrecords.org, TELUS, SHORE 104, Fairmont Hotels, playground.is, Whistler Blackcomb, Squamish Valley Music Festival, and Apron’s For Gloves.
Stu Anderson – Agent, Paquin Artists Agency
Stu Anderson has been an agent at Paquin Artists Agency since in 2010, and today represents a diverse roster of artists, including Corb Lund (USA), Matt Andersen (USA), The Strumbellas (USA), Buffy Sainte-Marie (USA), Shakey Graves (CAN), The Bros. Landreth (CAN), Del Barber (CAN), Chic Gamine (CAN), Ridley Bent (CAN), and more.
Recognized for his outstanding work as an agent, Stu was nominated for a Vanguard Award in 2012 by the Western Arts Alliance for creative artist marketing in the U.S., and, in 2013, was among The Uniter Magazine’s 30 Under 30 list, a celebration of the brightest young people in their respective fields.
